A branding project for a one-off batch of Sloe Gin from a family-run distillery.
The project entailed creating a brand from scratch – everything from the name, branding and packaging, to display units and stationery. The price point put the product at the more premium end of the gin market, so the packaging had to reflect this. I chose a copper foil on a transparent label so that the deep burgundy of the gin served as a backdrop for the branding. The bottle was then sealed with a pop of blue wax pressed with the shrimp emblem.
Due to the product being a small batch, sold for a limited time, the FSDU needed to be cost effective as such a small quantity would be needed. This meant the best option for keeping costs down without devaluing the brand; was to maximising the print design on a basic structure.
